About Us

Adams & Currie Ltd was established in 1976 by Bruce Currie, his son Ross, and Wally Adams.

They set out to meet the needs of the South Island's transport, contracting, and local council industries by supplying robust, high-quality tipping trucks, trailers, flat deck bodies, tractor units, and related services.

Over the years, the company expanded its expertise and developed an enviable reputation for quality, service, and innovation. Much of this success is owed to the stewardship of long- serving directors Pat Lagan, Peter Laurenson, and Keith Robinson, who guided the business through decades of growth and industry change. Their leadership helped ensure Adams & Currie remained a trusted name in transport manufacturing.

In March 2024, Adams & Currie entered a new chapter when ownership passed to Jeff and Yvette Mear of Fruehauf New Zealand Limited. From its new premises at 15 Parkhouse Road, Wigram, Christchurch, the company continues to manufacture its traditional product lines while also operating as a dedicated Fruehauf Service & Repair Centre to support the increasing number of Fruehauf and Schmitz Cargobull products in the region.
